Meet Attorney Natalie, Erie County’s Trusted Resource for Estate Planning, Administration, and Litigation

Attorney Alan Natalie has served the legal needs of clients throughout Northwestern Pennsylvania since 1989.

As both a solo-practice attorney and an Assistant Public Defender in Erie County, Pennsylvania, he has made a difference in the lives of the families he guides through difficult times, the defendants whose freedom he protects, and the injured individuals for whom he pursues maximum compensation.

He has been married for more than 25 years to his wife, Suzanne, and is the father of three children, Angelina, Melania, and Giovanni.

Attorney Natalie has achieved numerous novel wins that have been published in legal journals and set new precedents. As an example, he fought for wrongfully disinherited beneficiaries in a guardianship litigation case in which the guardian unilaterally (and unlawfully) made himself and another family member the beneficiaries of all estate assets. Attorney Natalie’s tireless intervention resulted in a judge overruling this unethical conduct and the court chastising the perpetrator.

Attorney Alan Natalie isn’t just practicing law but also paving the way for legal outcomes that are fairer and deliver justice even in the face of complex circumstances.

The Advantages of Blended Experience

With a diverse background in practicing areas of law that range from personal injury to criminal defense and estate law, Attorney Natalie has a unique blend of experience you won’t find anywhere else. This combination equips him with a deeper understanding of Pennsylvania law and legal procedures, as well as an increased capacity to assist his clients. For example, with knowledge of both estate administration and personal injury law, Attorney Natalie has the skills to assist with wrongful death cases within the estate context, helping grieving family members understand legal recourse as well as carry out their obligations under estate law.

Attorney Alan Natalie has also balanced his work as a part-time public defender with the demands of maintaining a full-time private practice, Alan Natalie, Attorney At Law, developing and demonstrating his discipline and work ethic in the process.

Today, Attorney Natalie intentionally limits his areas of practice to allow him to concentrate on the specific needs of the clients he serves. He focuses on estate planning and administration, comprehensive assistance for personal injury matters, and selective criminal defense cases.

With his reputation in the courtroom and the skills he gained as a trial attorney, Attorney Natalie is uniquely positioned to handle matters of estate litigation. While many other attorneys in Northwestern Pennsylvania shy away from handling will contests, fiduciary disputes, and inheritance disputes, Attorney Alan Natalie rises to the challenge and personally handles these complex cases in-house from start to finish.

Attorney Natalie has deep roots in Erie County, having served communities throughout this region for decades. In addition to his work as an attorney, he serves as an adjunct instructor of legal studies at Gannon University. As managing partner of 21st Century Erie Development Partnership, LLC, he is also responsible for the historical restoration, redevelopment, and management of commercial property in downtown Erie.

He also takes an active role in community affairs through extensive volunteer positions for numerous civic and professional organizations in Erie County. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has assumed leadership positions in the Erie County Bar Association, including Board of Directors Member, Young Lawyers Division Chair, and Civil Practice Section Chair. Attorney Natalie has been locally recognized both personally and professionally, including with the Erie's Choice Community’s Choice Awards award for Best Attorney 2025 and the Fairview School Foundation community service award.

He puts this philosophy into practice by representing clients and serving the cause of justice even in cases that may not be politically popular, because it’s the right thing to do.
